Transmission Sprocket Installation
1. Install the tranny sprocket (with belt) on the primary drive equipment. 2. Install the sprocket nut. The following procedure is based on whether a fresh or used nut is being installed. Note: The Tranny Sprocket nut has kept handed threads. Switch the nut counterclockwise to set up on the key drive equipment. Sprocket Nut: apply reddish thread lock to the threads of the sprocket nut. As well smear a small quantity of red thread lock or clean engine essential oil inside face of the sprocket nut and the exterior face of the sprocket. Limit the application form to where the surfaces of the two parts contact one another. Install the sprocket nut until finger limited. 3. Obtain Last Drive Sprocket Locking Instrument (BAKER P/N: Tool-C) to lock transmitting sprocket. Proceed the following: A. Insert cope with of software below pivot shaft inboard of bottom level frame tube and attach to sprocket. B. Snug thumbscrew to lock job of tool on sprocket. 4. Obtain Mainshaft Locknut Wrench/Pilot (BAKER P/N: Tool-D). Proceed as follows: A. Install pilot on threaded end of mainshaft. B. Slide sleeve of locknut wrench over pilot and onto sprocket nut. C. Tighten sprocket nut to 60 ft-lbs. (81 Nm). As the nut is certainly tightened the cope with of the sprocket locking program rises to contact the pivot shaft, therefore avoiding sprocket/mainshaft rotation. 5. Scribe a straight line on the transmission sprocket nut ongoing the brand over onto the transmission sprocket. Tighten the tranny sprocket nut an additional 35 to 40 degrees. 6. Install lockplate over nut in order that the two diagonally opposing holes align with two tapped holes in sprocket. For the best suit, lockplate could be rotated to a number of positions and may be put with either side facing sprocket. 7. If holes in lockplate usually do not align with those in sprocket, tighten sprocket nut as required (up to 45 degrees optimum) until sprocket and lockplate holes will be in alignment.
